How to Verify Your Voting Record in Any State

Why? Because votes affect real estate!!! Policies, bylaws, enforcement activity, taxes, regulations are all affected by voters.

Every U.S. state keeps a record of when and how you voted. That record is public information, and it belongs to you. Yet most people have never looked at it. An independent researcher does not skip this step. They check the source directly instead of relying on rumors.

Start by searching for your state's official election website. Every state has one. Look for a section called "voter lookup" or "check my registration." Type in your name, birthday, and address. Within moments, you will see your registration status and a short history of the elections you participated in.

Read it carefully. Does the method listed match how you actually voted? If you always vote in person, but the record shows an absentee ballot, that is worth a closer look. If your signature on file looks unfamiliar, ask your election office to show you the document.

1 in 8 voter registrations is NOT correct! Than is 12.5% of votes!!! No comprehensive audit has been conducted for over a decade and some areas are refusing to do their own audit. Check your voting record free using sites like this one: https://scancheckprotect.org/#check-registration . Scan Check Protect your voter registration! Isn't it one of Your Duties as a citizen of the USA?!!!

This process works the same way whether you live in a small town or a large city. The tools may look slightly different, but the idea is universal. Your record should match your memory. If it does not, you have every right to ask questions and request a correction.

Checking your own record takes less time than a coffee break, and it gives you real peace of mind. Make it a yearly habit, just like checking a bank statement.

If life changes, like moving to a new home, also bring the same careful mindset to real estate decisions. When you need it, find an excellent experienced real estate consultant who answers questions honestly and clearly.

Heath, you’ve highlighted a crucial and often overlooked connection between civic participation and real estate! Drawing attention to how local policies, zoning bylaws, and property taxes are directly shaped by the ballot box gives clients and fellow agents a great reminder of why staying informed and checking our registration records matters so much.

Good morning Heath. Great advice to see if the record matches your voting tendencies. With a 12.5% error rate, it should get your attention. Thanks for the heads-up. Enjoy your day.

I have decided living in Portugal, I don't want to do mail-in ballot, will just leave it for a few years.
