People Who Love You Care

The cartoon above may make some people roll their eyes  and say "right". At every dinner Carol and I ask each other about our day and of course the answer is often "nothing".

With tomorrow being the 25th anniversary of 9/11 I dare say that thousands of spouses/significant others and their children wish they could ask those who were murdered about their day had they not been murdered.

My mother was murdered just shy of 30 years ago. Had she not been murdered it would have nice to ask her about her day and tell her about the girl I met (and married), I'd tell her about my perfect little girl and my perfect little boy.

On 911 cowardly terrorists murdered over 3,000 innocent lives and disrupted many, many more lives who loved the innocents killed.

Tonight, when you are reunited to the one(s) you love I hope you will eagerly ask those that you love "how was your day".

Do you enjoy the cartoons written by my son (Timmothy N. Timm) which I use as a springboard to write my daily posts? His strip, Titus & Philemon, has run in two newspapers for years as well as being printed in my blog every day. Titus & Philemon (pronounced Phi - Lee -Man) are guinea pigs. Their owner is Joe. Timmothy has never repeated a joke/comic strip in the 12 years he has been writing it. He has never copied another strip, such as Peanuts or Garfield. You can follow Timmothy on FB as Titus & Philemon and you can also check him out on Instagram as Instagram.com/titus and philemon/ .For Timmothy's website type timmtimmothy.com into your browser. I tried to put it in a link here but it refuses to work. Do NOT put anything in front of timmtimmothy.com or it will not work.

Nice September 11th Eve message, Bob. If I've learned anything in my life it's to stop regretting what I did or didn't say to someone. That thinking too often leads to more negative thinking.

Regret is a tool of the devil if we dwell on it Nina Hollander, Broker . It's good to note mistakes BUT then move on with the goal of doing better.

That is such a deeply moving and grounding post, Bob "RealMan" Timm. It is so easy to let the routine of daily life overshadow how much those simple check-ins at the end of the day truly matter. Remembering the fragility of life, especially as we approach September 11th, is a powerful reminder never to take a single moment or loved one for granted. Thank you for sharing such a poignant reflection and for featuring another wonderful comic by Timmothy!

Thank you Gwen Fowler SC Lakes & Mountains 864-710-4518 . I hope 911 has people thinking about the ones they love and how they can show their appreciation to them.

Good morning Bob. I lost my Dad over 56 years ago and almost daily wish I could ask "how was your day". Enjoy your day.

I can relate to that Wayne Martin . While I rarely think of my dad I do think of my mother often.

Not a person knows what their 'life' contract involves or for what time frame. Taking an active part of the life of those around us should be cherished as it can end so abruptly.

Well said Ed Silva, 203-206-0754 . I have been richly blessed and thank God for every new day in my life.

When my son was young I would take him to the movies and watch the animated stuff. This reminds me of one of the movies with a dog that waited all day at the front door for his master to come home  :)

You have my curiosity up Jeffrey DiMuria 321.223.6253 Waves Realty as to which movie that was.

I THINK it was called The Secret Life of Pets...around 10 or 11 years ago I think.

Asking the question "What was the best thing that happened to you today" and listening to the answer is a good way to stay connected.

You are right to say "and listening" Kat Palmiotti as listening is even more important then the asking.

People who love us care about the good and the bad!  They share in the good and help us when there is bad, haha.
