Diary of a Charlotte Realtor® — Two Pools, Two Closings and One Margarita Machine!
This week, we’re Closing on two absolutely gorgeous homes with pools—7005 Shadow Rock Court and 12909 Sandpiper Grove Court.

Both homes had back-up buyers waiting in the wings, undoubtedly hoping our first buyers wouldn’t perform. Sorry, folks—not a chance with either one!
The Closings have been especially fun because I’ve gotten to hear how much the buyers love their new homes while also hearing the absolute glee from sellers who once wondered whether they could achieve the sales prices they wanted.
You KNOW I love that!
Sandpiper Grove also gave us quite a story. We held its Open House precisely three days after my ankle surgery, when I was completely non-weight-bearing. Thankfully, it was a gorgeous one-level home, so I rolled right in on my scooter with help from my wonderful team member, Amanda.
Amanda picked up both me and my scooter, stayed through the Open House and missed the Carolina Panthers–Buffalo Bills preseason game to do it. If you know Amanda, you understand the magnitude of that sacrifice! She delivered me home safely and just in time to begin negotiating multiple Offers.
We found our back-up buyers at that Open House—but the winning buyers had seen our Open House announcement and instructed their agent to submit their Offer before the doors even opened. They were prepared, decisive and ultimately won the home.

Since then, my trusty scooter has become the most popular seat in the house. Sweet Maddie was the first to give it her approval, but Gracie soon claimed the fluffy pink cushion as her personal throne. Anyone who knows me—or has followed me on ActiveRain for long—knows my fur babies are family.
Yes, I am a proud adoptoholic!
And then came one of the sweetest surprises of the week. The sellers brought a HUGE box to Closing—for me! Inside was their margarita machine.
Apparently, when a home with a fabulous pool changes hands, some of its entertaining spirit has to come home with the Realtor®!

Hats off to Amanda, congratulations to four very happy parties and cheers to two beautiful Charlotte-area homes beginning their next chapters!
