What Would You Like To See In YOUR Goodie Bag?

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Cheryl Lee Handavaka Mobile Notary Public

I was having a conversation with a fellow notary today regarding marketing ideas for our Notary Loan Signing Business.  The basis of the conversation was what would be unique and ideal to put in "goodie bags" for our local Title, Loan, and Escrow Offices.

Although Goodie Bags Per se are not necessarily unique, they CAN BE ideal, I think, if they can be something of good use or value.

My main objective is to keep my information on the desks of our officers long enough to be remembered...and perhaps appreciated, and I don't want to send the same typical items that may not be of any good use.

So, I have come up with the idea to just ASK what you would like to see in YOUR goodie bags!

Idealistically BUT realistically speaking, however...

If there are any unique Goodie Bag ideas that you could share that YOU would like to see land on your desk once in a while, that would make you think twice about us...(literally think twice about us or more!)...please let me know!

Regards!

One of our Title companies comes by in person every month with a small glass jar of wrapped candy. (the jar has their company logo and the sweets are whatever is cheap for the month)  I could see doing a personal coffee mug with pens, pencils or note pads.  If you want it kept on a desk make it something usable and then replenish it on a regular basis.  JMHO

let us know what you decide to do.  cw

Hi Cheryl A,  At our insurance agency - we do the normal stuff - we give away pens, calendars, diaries, ice scrapers.. One cool idea that I heard about was putting your name on  Chip Clips - not sure it would necessarily be a constant reminder.. I love Cheryl W's idea of dropping by offices on a regular basis, we have a glass company that brings candy in a jar.. You could also do fresh cookies with your name on the box - then include some pens or something..   Nice note pads are always nice.

God bless,

Hi, Cheryl G. and Cheryl W.  Candy is a super idea...I've heard that feeding these officers works wonders...and makes them HAPPY!  Funny thing happened the day after I posted this.  I received free promo movie tickets in the mail for my business...I may ask them if I could use them to add to my goodie bags for other companies!

I remember long ago, I worked in a veterinary hospital and the local dog trainer would bring in her business cards, and a plastic container of the chewy chocolate chip cookies from Costco, and she would always bring her personal dog and make him do tricks in our lobby...she would tell him "Show me who your favorite trainer is!" and he would jump up at her, bark, and tap her leg with his paw.  VERY CUTE!  However, I am in no way going to perform notary tricks in the Escrow Co's reception area...(actually, it may not be such a bad idea!)

Cheryl W. brings up a great point - consistency. We have a bank that brings donuts every month. While we certainly don't need them and they don't last long, we are looking and asking when the donuts bank will be stopping by.

I also like to idea of a bag of microwave popcorn. Place a sticker on the bag, "We popping with new ideas..." or for your business something a little more in tune with what you do. Most people think the idea is different and the bag will sit around (read: be seen on the kitchen counter) until they're ready to munch.

My book "Notary Marketing 2019" is on Amazon.com

I hate cheap pens, candy, and all that junk.  If they are forced on me, I give them to children.  I DO admit to keeping and using small tablets and post-its.

The best promotional item I have given to my repeat clients are calendars printed on a strip.  They are meant to be adhered to a computer monitor.  Now it is the only giveaway I use in addition to the occasional plate full of home baked warm brownies.

My name, company name, phone number, email address, and website address go in the middle area.  My info is literally in their faces every day.

You can find companies selling these calendars by using these google search words:  +calendar +monitor +promo

Right now you can get a July 2008 - June 2009 version.

I hope people find this helpful.     LauraV

Laura-Super Cool Idea!  Will definitely look into that...they can't be that expensive..and would make itself very useful!

Cheryl W.-The whole chocolate bar wrapper theory is GENIUS...I don't know how many of them I'd have left before I actually got them to their destination-"ALMOST TOO GOOD TO SHARE " would have to be this choco-holic's motto!

Debbie-Excellent idea about the popcorn!  I actually could see me putting something "corny" on the wrapper to get someone's attention.  I'm such a goof!  However, I truly love that idea!

Thank you for all of your ideas!  The officer-goers will certainly appreciate you!

Cheryl,

I like the basket of warm tamales that my Title Officer brings by from time to time.  Notepads are always welcome too.

I agree with Laura about the candy, pens, etc.  I used to work for a major lending company and we would receive those items on occasion from Escrow officers.  They were only memorable for that short time.  Many of the workers would complain that all the "junk" they received was just cluttering up their desks.  Many times it would end up in the trash and the person or company that sent it would have been forgotten.
