Have you noticed that the more you work the internet and the more you show up on Google or Yahoo, the more phone calls you get?
I get over 10 long distance ID's every day on my cell. I stopped answering these LDID's because they are almost always sales people wanting to sell me leads, an internet site, special placement on search engines, blah, blah, blah! Yadda, Yadda, Yadda. They almost never leave a voice mail. They just try again later. Hey, I know the callers are working and it is not their fault. But, the company should take a look at this procedure, because I do not want to look at their product again because of this harassment.
I use over 2000 minutes a month on my plan already. It's not the minutes that worry me, it's the interruptions. I am using my cell for 99% business that I worked hard on to make potential clients call me! If not future clients, I need to talk to my sellers and buyers with whom I am currently working. I do not need the "caller coming in" beeps all day!
If we are smart enough to be top performers on ActiveRain and all our other sites for business, don't you think that, they would know, that we know already, who they are? I have visited all your websites. I know what you have to offer. If I want it, I would sign up there!
True, I give them my email to see what they have, because I am always searching for what's new and I do not mind email responses at all! But, they look me up and find my cell number and they call me several times a week until I answer. We go through the same conversation. No, I don't buy leads. No, I have an internet site, several actually. No, I am already on the first page of Google, thank you.
Now, I am getting calls because of my posts and comments on AR. They say they read a comment and I sure could use their services. Please, if you are reading this, I prefer email. If it looks interesting, I will visit your site, I promise! Please don't call me, you are taking away from my business.
R-E-S-P-E-C-T, remember?
Is this happening to you? How are you handling it?
A guy calls me yesterday and acts like he has a referral for me, then he starts his pitch that this "referral" will only cost me $65! I said I would gladly give him a referral fee if this was real and he said he could not do that; must have been a "solid" lead, as he could have made a lot more than $65................
