Welcome Wednesday #1: Getting Started On ActiveRain

Carol, great first informational post for the new bloggers to read.   Hope this will engage them more.

What a wonderful initiative, Carol! Spotlighting new bloggers and their first posts is such a great way to encourage participation and build our community. We were all new to ActiveRain at one point, and finding your footing on the platform can definitely feel a bit overwhelming at first.

Pointing everyone toward Kat's getting-started guide and the weekly Zoom schedule gives them exactly the tools they need to connect and thrive here. I'll be sure to check out the new ActiveRain Information Center group as well. Thanks for always being such a fantastic resource for all of us!

Carol, introducing first-time bloggers alongside a getting-started resource gives new members both visibility and a practical way to participate. Pointing them toward Q&A and the weekly discussions also helps turn an initial post into an ongoing exchange. That is how a professional community becomes useful beyond publishing.

This will be a very nice series to welcome newbies and show others who might get active in the Rain!  I love the post that Kat Palmiotti did and I plan to share that with newbies when I comment on their first posts.

Carol Williams happy 4th quarter with a fresh idea!  I would say the most important first step is to complete your profile and provide your telephone number next to your name.  Often times we pick up the phone randomly to welcome newbies

This is a well thought out addition to what should be required reading, Carol, thank you for that. I do have something to add, like do not use ActiveRain as a means to gain referrals and then refuse to honor them.

I do have a blog in the works that explains more. Will post it to your new group once finished.

Hello Carol - like many communities I have "joined" - AR was not easy.  My beginning days were long ago.  I'm not confident that has changed even as the ActiveRainLand playground has evolved.  My puddle-jumping perhaps may be considered a pittance.   

Good morning Carol Williams and I agree with others about having this new series dedicated to first time members. As I read each of the posts, somehow the new members maybe confuse as to the purpose of Active Rain.  I read 3 sales pitches and every new member lacked a personal photo. Of course I am jaded about sales pitches after being in sales for over 5 decades.
