My Blogging Tip: Create a Framework That Turns Content Into Connections!
Sometimes the best ideas come when you need to hit the reset button!
After being away for the first quarter of 2026 due to health reasons, I returned to ActiveRain and discovered my blogging rhythm was a little off.
I'd been posting my Funny Fridays for years and my Throwback Thursdays with Fun Facts for quite some time, but I wanted to add more meaningful, consistent content.
I realized that things happening in my real estate business and personal life each week were already giving me plenty of ideas. I just needed a framework to organize them!
That's how three new blogging series came to life:
- Monday Lessons with Dorie: Life lessons, observations, quotes, and experiences that make us think.
- Looking Beyond the Front Door: Stories about people, relationships, community, and the connections that make life interesting.
- Wednesday Market Matters: Looking beyond the statistics to explain what market numbers and headlines actually mean to homeowners in my neighborhood.
Suddenly, I wasn't wondering what to write about. I had recurring themes that encouraged me to recognize everyday experiences as potential blog posts.

And here's where it gets interesting!
By sharing these posts on social media, I'm seeing more engagement than ever! Texts, phone calls, and conversations with colleagues, past clients, and my sphere are creating connections. I'm finding my rhythm AND a recognizable voice that people identify with.
The BIG bonus? Those connections are turning content into business!
I've also become more intentional about organizing my content. Just as Margaret Rome Baltimore 410-530-2400 uses the same tags to easily find her past posts, I'm using tags more intentionally and keeping separate files for each series so I can easily revisit previous posts.
And thanks to Debe Maxwell, CRS for encouraging participation in Speechless Sundays and Wordless Wednesdays. Sometimes a little fun and spontaneity are just what our blogging week needs!
So What's My October Challenge Tip?
Stop reinventing the wheel! Create a blogging framework around recurring themes that reflect YOUR personality, interests, and expertise.
Our clients aren't thinking about real estate 24/7, and neither should we! They appreciate stories they can relate to, and when we do discuss real estate, they want to understand what the headlines mean for THEIR neighborhood, not simply read another national statistic.
A consistent framework makes blogging easier, builds recognition, and creates opportunities for genuine conversations.
Consistency builds recognition. Recognition builds relationships. And relationships build business!
I've rediscovered how fun blogging can be when I have a system that works for me.
Just my two cents!
My question for fellow Rainers: Do you have a blogging routine that keeps you consistent, or do you let inspiration determine your next post?
This is my entry into the AR October challenge. Thank you Kathy Streib and Eileen Burns 954.483.3912 for hosting!
