Flew into Brussels on Thursday, and after a harrowing taxi ride from the airport, made it to the hotel. Uber drivers I think, are safer, as they are rated. That taxi driver texted, watched YouTube and drove 128 in a 90 speed limit in traffic! In and out of traffic, flipping drivers off, and definitely had road rage.
Found a cute Mexican restaurant close to my hotel, and had a couple of tacos and a margarita, SO NICE!
On Friday, got out to explore Grand Place and all the beautiful places downtown. OH MY, it was SO nice. Loved the old buildings, the cute side streets, and the waffle places! Didn't have one, but I will before I leave!
Standing in Grand Place, met a couple from Newfoundland; they sounded so American! They were thinking of moving to Portugal, so we had a great conversation!

This was St. Michael's church, not far from Grand Place

The side streets are filled with beauty, and the "Frites" (French fries) storefronts and waffle places are to die for! I haven't tried them YET.

This is Grand Place, and the buildings are just beautiful. They were putting up a grandstand, so there's a bit of construction in the area.

Bikes are the best form of transportation around here, and this entire street was filled with bicycles and motorcycles.
I did just under 9000 steps on this journey today. Tonight I will try a Belgian restaurant, then go to a rooftop bar to see the night lights.
Taking a train to Antwerp tomorrow, and found the train station I need to be at in the morning.
