ROYAL PALM BEACH, FL -- The Village of Royal Palm Beach made Family Circle Magazine's top ten list of the best places to raise a family.

"It's a great place and I've lived here for 16 years and it's been kind of a secret."

Well, the secret's out!

"Makes me feel good, makes me know I made the right choice purchasing and building in this neighborhood," says resident Vanessa Ramsahai.

Active Mom, Vanessa Ramsahai moved to Royal Palm Beach for it's affordability and outdoor family activities, such as parks.

"We've been living here for about five years and I can't imagine living anywhere else," says Ramsahai.

The towns are ranked based on their schools, affordable homes, and whether they are environmentally friendly.

Royal Palm Beach also got attention for going green.  Instead of building homes on an old golf course, the village is building a park.

Construction will soon begin on this land to create "Commons Park." It will feature a lake for fishing and kayaking.

The village's focus on family is bringing in visitors from neighboring cities.

"I like it a lot better here, it's a lot more friendly, there's a lot more people outside with their families and it's a lot cleaner, there's just a lot more things to do with your kids here in West Palm," explains one Mother.

The many positive features of Royal Palm Beach give those who live there a sense of pride.

"There's a lot of value.  The parks are great, the schools are excellent, the community feeling's great.  The city has worked really hard to maintain that, so it was kind of a nice thing to see us being honored."

The list is in the August issue of Family Circle magazine. It's set to hit newsstands sometime this week.
