I took it all off at the meeting

By
Home Stager with Stage-Show-Sell

Once a month I meet with a networking group. Today I wanted to get a little more visual On the Art of Staging.

This is what I looked like when I stood in line waiting for the doors to open.   Can you believe no one spoke to me while we were waiting for the doors to open.

Not only that................. No One talked to me during the open networking part of the meeting.

TTL, they didn't kick me out for being a vagrant.

I started my talk (two minutes) with "Well ladies and gentlemen NO ONE spoke to me during the networking time"   Was that because I didn't look what you expected.  My dress (house) was not internet ready.

This is what many homes look like on the Internet because they are not staged.

I took the hat off and said "There is nothing wrong with this hat"   It just doesn't look good this way.

Next came off all the jewelry.  Each one being very nice and expensive.  5 of them together was a bit too much

The jacket was next.  It sure didn't work  with the white vest/jacket underneath.

off comes the neck scarf

The blue neck scarf was gone and the red jacket for color.

Now I'm Internet ready.

The SHOW went on a little longer.  My photographer couldn't keep up with me :-)

Virginia, wasn't it fun.  I did something very similar for my very first presentation to our board of realtors and I only knew one person in the audience.    I got cat calls and whistles as things started to come off.  AND believe it or not I'm basically a shy person but I really wanted to make a bold first impression and it did.  Those that were present haven't forgot that skit and it was almost 3 years ago.

The rest of you ought to give it a try..be different, stand out from the crowd just like your stagings should.

This was really fun and I can't wait to do it in front of a whole office of realtors.

They did get the idea about not being internet ready.

Now I need to come up with an idea for houses that look good now and are not showing to their best.

Hi Virginia ~ Good for you for doing this.

I have also done a presentationwith lots of props.  When I did this almost four years ago, the Realtors just loved it and giggle as they remind me that they never forget the power of staging with this illustration.  It really speaks loud and clear and it is very visually appealing.  I still do this with new audiences when I do various public speaking in my community for a variety of presenations.  It works very well.  Keep up the great work!

I give you credit for having the nerve to show up looking like that.  Wouldn't you love to be able to hear what people were thinking when they saw you standing there!  Great job!

WCR (Women's Council of Realtors) gave me the training to give any kind of speaches to just about anyone.

This was such a turn on that I can't wait to do it again.

This is funny, I did this once at a meeting. As I got up to speak I put this ugly blue clip in hair to hold my bangs up. I saw the looks on their faces...like what the heck is she doing?? After the presentation I asked so what is home staging?? I asked how many people could not take their eyes off that clip once I put it in my hair? Many raised their hands, I took the clip out and shook out my hair and then asked so why do you think your buyers will NOT be distracted by the ugly pink stained carpeting or the dated wallpaper?? AHA, they got my point.

Denise, have a ball.

Kathi, go for it and have fun

I need to do it again, slow down while doing it and give my camera man more time to shoot.  Then I'll do a RES on it
