I have been in Columbia County for 30 years and still remember going to Clarks Hill Lake in the summer. For those of you who don't know yet, the long time residents of the county know how long someone has been here depending on what they call the lake. I remember when Columbia and Belair roads were both two lanes. Does anyone know where West General store was? We have seen many changes over the years, most of them for the best. I don't know of anywhere else that can compare to the quality of life that Columbia County can offer. Whether you are new to the area or been here longer than me, I know you have already experienced much of what the county offers.
Looking back, I can't think of anywhere that could have been better to have been raised or to possibly raise my own children. While we are far from perfect here, I can honestly say that we all work together to make this a community that people want to become a part of.
