I just recieved this E-Mail. It resounds so true!!!
Two older lady's were talking in the store and one read the headlines about a Meth house in the neighboring county. One asked the other..."why didn't we have "drug" problems when we were young"?
The sencond lady said "I had a drug problem when I was young!"
I was Drug to church on sunday mornings!
I was Drug to church for weddings and funerals and made to dress up!
I was Drug to family reunions and community functions no matter the weather.
I was Drug by my ears when I was disrespectful to adults!
I was Drug to the wood shed when I disobeyed my parents, told a lie, brought home a bad report card, did not speak with respect, spoke ill of a teacher or the preacher, or if I didn't put forth my best in everything asked of me.
I was Drug to the kitchen sink and had my mouth washed out with soap if I uttered profanity.
I was Drug out to the garden to pull weeds or to the flower garden to pull weeds or out in the fields to pull cockleburs.
I was Drug to family and neighbors to help some poor soul to mow their yard or help with odd chores or chop wood; and if mom new I had taken even a nickle as a tip for my kindness, she would have Drug me back to the woodshed!
Those "Drugs" are still in my veins and they affect behavior in everything I do and say yet today.
GOD BLESS THE PARENTS WHO DRUGGED US!!!
These Drugs are stronger than cocaine, crack and heroin, and if today's kids had this kind of a "Drug" problem...this country would be a better place today.
