I looked at the calendar this morning as I prepared to make a posting to our office blog. Suddenly a flashback to church as a youth, "Forgive me father for I have sinned, it has been 3 weeks since my last posting." Okay, so I stretched a little for that ice breaker.
Anyway, things have been very busy here at the office in spite of carving out some much needed time for rest and relaxation. When the final June numbers hit, it proved to be one of our best months in nearly a year. Kudos to our agents for all of their hard work. Also, the first half numbers for our company were out. Our office posted one of the best commission levels in the company and those numbers included REO properties as well. What a great thing! That means our agents are demonstrating their value, our clients are recognizing it, and everyone is benefiting. So what has been taking place? More than I can keep up with. A couple weeks back we completed a tech session demonstrating the ease of use of our Toolkit program and its application for building custom property brochures, presentations, and CMAs. Yesterday we held a CE class on Ethics hosted by Harry Yazbek, regional VP with Mid-Atlantic Title. I have to admit, this was the first ethics class I ever enjoyed. Instead of simply listening to an instructor read through the Realtor Code of Ethics, Harry really turned the tables on us and made the class interactive. Hard to believe how quick the three hour class went. It is also amazing to discuss how many times we witness in every day business agents consciously or inadvertently ignoring the code. Either way, it made for lively debate. Of course free CE credits and lunch from Pot Belly's helped sweeten the deal. Thanks Harry!
Tonight we kick off our first of hopefully many investment seminars lead by Alisa Sampedro. The event promises to be a fresh perspective on how to jump into real estate investing at the right place in the market at a level commensurate to the potential investor's experience. As Alisa likes to say, "You don't have to become a landlord to invest in real estate." If you are reading this today (July 17th), there are still a few spaces available if you'd like to join us. Just give a call over to our office, 703-771-8888. Till next time, Brian
