It is not necessary to get pre approved before you begin shopping for a home but I highly recomend it. Once you begin the process of buying a home it sometimes happens that you find one that you love right away. If you know exactly what you can afford and what you are approved for before you begin, you should have a smoother, less stressful buying experience. You won't have to worry about your loan getting declined and about losing the home of your dreams.
