Summer is here and gas prices are way up... Sometimes it's good to get out of the house without breaking the bank. We like to take our daughter to the local park:
Roseland Park located on Roseland Park Road in rural Woodstock, CT is a fun and FREE place to visit.
At just over 60acres there is much natural beauty as well as man-made activities to keep everyone busy.
There is a lake for fishing and boating, a boat launch is located on the grounds for visitor convenience. For the nature lovers there are hiking trails winding their way up and around the hill-great for bird watching too. The kids can play in the sandbox, play on the playground, and there is even a basketball court. Your dog(s) can come too and must be on leash.
Just beyond the hiking trails is a little league field so bring your baseball gear!
If you are planning to stay for the day there are grills, picnic tables and a pavilion so you can enjoy a cookout or picnic. For large, private events the park can be rented for the day. Call (860) 963-7690 for more information.
