There is a new top level domain .me. Here is another chance to get your name or personal brand in a domain. If you missed out on prior opportunities to get your name in a domain now is your chance.

A website like a .name or .me can be used for a number of purposes. One idea I really like is to use this type of site to create an online resume. You can create a website of testimonials or perhaps a portfolio. The uses are endless and another web property in your internet portfolio can never hurt your marketing effort.

Securing your personal brand with another top level domain name can support and enhance your brand. Use the secondary website to support your brand and help increase your authority and trust factor. Secondary websites can be also used to support your SEO efforts.

Could be a powerful tool. Like Donna, I wonder where this will go. I also wonder what will happen with the other extensions I've heard about, for example those that are profession based.

All - Thanks for the great feedback. The reason why new extensions are created is simply because they sell and are used. In my experience the best use for secondary domain extensions is to support and extend your personal brand and primary website. I view it as an opportunity to add another tool in the tool chest.
