Ok, so I'm sure you've heard the news. If you haven't, then let me be the first to tell you. Wegmans is coming to Woodbridge, VA. I can't wait! But most likely not for the same reasons as all of you. See, My Husband works at the Wegmans in Fairfax Va. He's a chef, and we moved here about 3 years ago from Rochester, NY. That's where Wegmans was founded, in case you didn't know. I'm happy because we live in Lake Ridge, and he will most likely be transfered to the new store, which will cut his commute from 40 minutes, down to 10. Pretty exciting, Huh. I know alot of people out there would love just a 10 minute commute. But anyhow, I'm getting off topic. Most of you native Virginians have never seen a grocery store offer so much in one place, as Wegmans. Free Child care while you shop, (in Dulles, not Fairfax), Competative prices, and the best part of it all is the food! (ok, so I'm a bit partial, but the food really is great!) But even having said all that, to me, it's just a grocery store. I have to admit though, the stores here are a ton better than the ones up north, but I just can't get over the phenomenon it has become. Growing up, we had one in just about every town. You were no more than 10-15 minutes in any direction from Wegmans. I've heard of people driving an hour or more just to shop there. Am I the only one who thinks this is crazy? But to all of you who would drive an hour, sit tight, they'll be coming to you soon.
