Today in St Louis - March 18, 2007

Resolved another Inspection Notice today. Have one more to resolve this week. Pretty sure we'll get all parties to come together on that one, too.

We had a great time yesterday at the St Patrick's Day Parade in Dogtown. It was chilly, and it snowed the entire time, but that didn't hinder the crowd. The parade lasted at least two hours, and we counted at least 105 entrants. It seemed like every Irish name in the city had an entrant. Beads were flying... Enclosed are some pics.

Last night, we attended the 10th Anniversary Concert of BandTogether. It was held at the Desmond Lee Concert Hall at the University City Loop. Our good friend, John Langham, had a number of flute and piccolo solos. It was a great concert, as always. It's also free. They play for donations. During the first half of the concert, they had some difficult arrangements to perform (Invocation and Toccata and Terpsichore). The band played admirably well, but struggled somewhat, I felt. For the second half, you could tell they relaxed and were really enjoying themselves. The arrangements were also more lighthearted. I enjoyed the second half the best, especially the Symphonic Suite from Far and Away, and The Great Steamboat Race. John's solos were fantastic; he is an amazing musician. Their next concert is their Spring Pops Concert on May 19. The concerts are always free to the public; the musicians and directors are all volunteers. They perform for the love of the music. For more informaton on BandTogether, visit their website: www.bandtogetherstl.com.

Great pictures of the parade. It's one of my favorite times of the year (St Patrick's Day). Guess what's about to hit St Louis this weekend?

NCAA Tournament! I hope you write about its affect on the city

Obviously not quite as cold today!!! I wanted to get your review of BlockShopper and whether you think we ought to expand to the City or St. Charles next.

Its for realtors and homebuyers/sellers who want to know the Who and For How Much behind the What.

BlockShopper - St. Louis does just that!

Look forward to your review.

Eddie,

Seems like a really neat site... full of lots of info. I don't know how I feel about the misinformation part (to stop people from stealing your information). How much misinformation is there on the site? I work the city mainly, so obviously I would suggest expanding to the city. St Charles is a large market, too...

I would like to ad this link to my site. Is this possible? How much to do this?

Thanks,

tim

tim,

St. Louis and St. Charles are in the works - have a bit more to do from a product rollout standpoint - some pretty neat tools and just added free listings for agents.

Correcting misinformation is a full-time job. A lot of it is sourced in the county, but we tend to get it cleaned up ASAP versus the NEVER.

Our reporters on the other hand have all their work fact-checked and edited, so we have been pretty fortunate to avoid a "daily corrections" problem you find at big dailies.

As far as adding a link to BlockShopper, go for it, a whole bunch of other people have. Or, I can ask the development team to send you an XML stream of the news for your site if you are interested (no cost).

Good luck,

Eddie

Eddie, if you could send the XMS stream of the news for my site, that would be great. I will need directions on how to install, use it, etc. Thanks.

Too bad it wasn't warmer for the parade. I love St. Pats day.
