Moving...A Refresher for Realtors

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Cape Cod and the Islands

Well, my wife and I have just downsized and moved all our earthly belongings (those that we wanted and the kids did not) from Springfield, MA to Falmouth, MA. Even though we had movers do the bulk of the heavy work, the two or us are exhausted and we are now living with boxes and a cellar that you have to manuever through sideways.

When we congratulate our buyers at the closing and wish them well, we sometimes forget what lies ahead. Maybe realtors should move every so often just so we can keep in touch with what our clients are experiencing.

Oh well! Back to the unpacking.

I hate to MOVE!!!  Sometimes when I have a buyer I will make them a Moving Package, with energy bars, water, windex, paper towels, toilet paper, band aids, some chocolate bars, etc.  It is always the stuff you need when moving and cannot find.

What a great idea. The items you listed all came in handy with the move.

Steve... I have moved many times in my life and each time at my most exhausted moment in the process I loudly proclaim that this will be the last time.  And then a few years later I am doing it again!  It's a viscious cycle!

Moving is to me a NIGHT MARE at best. I look around and think this won't be so bad......then I realize how much stuff we have accumulated. How ?

Moving isn't so bad until you get down to packing the last two junk boxes. I mean where did those items come from and where do they go when you get to the new house??

Tracey, I do the same thing - the buyers love and appreciate it!

Moving is the worst!  Good Luck with it and try not to get to discouraged.
