All Star Game Was a Slam!

OK all of you baseball purist's. I can't believe no one has written about the all star game the other night. In my opinion that was the best game in recent memory.

There was some offense, at the plate and the base's. Oh and how many guys were thrown out at the plate. You had awesome pitching from both sides. For those that really love extra innings you had that. And the last all star game that will be played in the house that Ruth built.

The home run derby Monday night was awesome. Josh (I can't remember his last name) from the Rangers hit 28 home runs his first time up. That had never been done before.

And of course I always like seeing the old timer's at events like this.

So for those of you who watched the game give me your take.

To sum it all up the all star game was like the best real estate transaction you could ever hope to experience. Looking forward to the post season.

Go Dodgers!!!!!!!!

Rob- Actually I did a blog about the AllStar Game- with focus on the Stadium... And Fran Gaspari wrote a great post the day after! It was a good game- the pregame show was Classic.... I love the Hall of Famers at their position to greet the 08 allstars- The game was long, as if the spirits of The Stadium did not want to let it go- For me it is all Yankees!!!!

My 11 year old son watched it and kept me updated.  He also watched the home run derby and got me to sit down with him, that was fun!

I love that at his age he is so into the sport! Defiantly gets me involved and into it.

Boy, I disagree with your assessment. I thought this was terrible. Bench players- many of which undeserving of even being an all-star- playing 9 innings and getting 4 or 5 at bats while your Jeters, A-Rods etc. sit and watch. Average pitchers pitching 3 innings to see which league gets home field advantage in the World Series? 2 horrible blown calls costing the AL runs late in the game? Yikes!

This game NEEDS to not count for anything and be treated as the exhibition it is. Luckily this time the league that deserves home field gets it...

I heard the game was spectacular.  Josh Hamilton is a local hometown hero! It's so exciting to see him beat the odds and succeed in Baseball!

David: hang in there they are one of the better teams in the bigs right now.

Barbara: I should have looked harder. Thanks for the heads up!

Terrie: Your son is a smart guy

Jim: Early in the game they were managing to play nine innings, not 15. Like they say "hind sight is 20/20" Like I said it was just my opiniion.

Tracy: It was great to here Josh's story. After the home run derby I bet he now has a lot of new fans. I know I am one of them!

If the National League wants to ever win the All star Game again they should pay for my wife and I to attend. The last time they won in 1996, at the Vet in Philadelphia, we were in attendance and since we haven't been back they haven't won. Only makes sense that this is the reason for their futility, right?

The All Star Game was one of the better ones in recent memory.  When they flashed to Bud Selig during the end when the teams were running out of pitchers, it looked nausous.  That guys is a total idiot, when it comes to making the all-star game the basis for home field advantage.  It is an exhibition game, meant for fun and showing the best talent in the game...does it REALLY matter if they end in a tie?  If the game was to go 1 or 2 more inings of tied ball, the AL couldn't have put a pitcher on the mound...then what?  Risk hurting a pitcher or player?

Sorry off my soapbox now... :)
