Curb Appeal: Give Your Home an Edge

Curb appeal is all about first impressions.  There are many details that you can attend to in an effort to make that positive first impression.  Edging is something that requires sweat equity.  And in the Northern Virginia summer heat, you may want to wait until an hour before dusk to get started on an edgiing project.

Edging creates clearly defined borders.  While most people associate edging with the definied border between grass and sidewalk, edging can also be done around your mulch beds and gardens for that extra WOW factor.

An edger may not be effective if you haven't been maintaining a clear edge to your garden.  You will most likely need a shovel and the patience to dig out your first edge.  From that point, maintenance will be easy with an edging tool.

A little sweat equity can make a great first impession!  Pride of ownership can mean extra money in your pocket when it's time to sell.

I think you hit a home run on this one that the edging adds that wow factor Chris. With the mulch and weedeater trimmed straightness of the lines it looks awesome in the landscaping!!

Gary:  It really does make a huge difference!  I love to drive around and get inspiration from well done, and simple lawns.

This is why I like living in a community where someone else takes care of the yard work.  No more lawn work.

Pat:  I used to love caring for the lawn.  Now it's my husband's job and I haven't cared to have it back.
