AZ Home Loans in Google, Thanks ActiveRain!

aim high for az home loansI just searched for "AZ Home Loans" in Google, and bam- right there on page one (albeit number 10), is my ActiveRain profile.  Yea!

I searched for "Arizona Home Loans" and my ActiveRain profile is on page 2 of Google, position number 12.

But even better:  My ActiveRain profile is number two (after the sponsored results) for "Chandler AZ Mortgage" and number one for "Chandler AZ Mortgage Company".

I am also number one for "Chandler AZ home loans."  My office is in Chandler, AZ and if all of my business would be in Chandler, that would be wonderful.  It looks like ActiveRain has me covered for searches related to the city in which I live and work.

Now my official website at AZWM.com is awesome for "Arizona Mortgage" and a lot of phrases related to that.  All on Google, page one; many in the number one spot.

I am not telling you all of this to brag.  Seriously.  I just want you to know that if your AR profile isn't seeing some serious action, you need to read my blog and take a look at my profile.

Between my old site and ActiveRain, I am totally nailing the search engines for all of the search phrases that I am targeting.  The funny part is that my AR profile has a PR of zero and no incoming links (that I know of).  Yet, these sites are highly competitive.  My AR profile is sharing space right by LendingTree and BankRate.  (They are beneath me, if I recall.)

However, I am not satisfied with being number 10 and number 12 for the Arizona (AZ) Home Loans search phrase.  So...  I just tweaked my ActiveRain profile a bit and...well, let's give it a couple of days, but I bet I move up higher in the Google rankings.  I could be wrong, but I'd bet ya.

In my opinion, the most important things to tweak in your profile are those headings.  Don't go with the generic headings that ActiveRain provides.  That's why they allow you to change them.  Search engines understand that those are paragraph headers and that they define the text beneath them.  Believe me, this is true.  Search engines know a lot, methinks.

So, instead of having "Testomonials" as a heading in your profile, you should really change that to "Testimonials for Bob Smith, Chicago Realtor" or something to that effect.  Those headers are very important and I am shocked that 90% of the profiles I see don't take advantage of them.  You can let them sit as duplicate content, without any unique description of yourself, or you can use those babies for search engine magic.

I'll post again in a week and I betcha a dollar I can move up for the home loans thing.  Thank you ActiveRain!

Oh, and for those SEO experts who shout about PageRank- my ActiveRain profile has a PageRank of zero, unlike some of the more senior members who have profile page ranks as high as "3", but don't have any kind of decent SERP.  Page Rank and links don't mean too much when you can nail AZ Home Loans with a PR of zero on a brand new sub-site.  Go on, somebody comment and tell me how important reciprocal linking is.  I feel like I need to pound my head on the wall today.  (I'm kidding; I've already proven my point; get over it already.)

Karen,

Thanks for posting and thanks for the info.  I am going to change my headings right now.  Anything that I can do to improve my SEO, especially that's free, I'm gonna do it.

Thanks,

Fran

Karen,

Just tweaked my headings based on your blog here.  I had already changed them from the standard but went back and made sure they contain the keywords I am targeting.
