I've brought my two beautiful granddaughters back to their parents in ST. Louis which is their new home.  My son-in-law was transfered from Richmond, Va. to St. Louis.  I haven't been here since 1969.  The Arch is still so impressive.  The mighty Mississippi river came way up its banks in the recent flood.  The line and magnitude of what happened here is humbling.

That being said, St. Louis is a vibrant city and full of diverse businesses and industry.  This diversity allows a community to weather a economic downturn much easier than areas that have one industry.  Our Cape Coral and Fort Myers are vacation destinations of course but we need diversity.  I really don't know exactly what is required to entice more big business to our area but I think this is a perfect opportunity to really put a push on.  The availability of property at these bargain prices and availability of a suffering work force should entice any business our way.

The only stumbling block is our Lee County and Cape Coral Government red tape.  Over the 15 years that I have been here I have heard nothing but complaints about the how poorly business has been treated. If our local governments can figure out that they are the problem and help new businesses fast tract to our area than we have a chance.  First they must recognise that fact.  I myself have had 6 different companies give up and relocate to another area.  Business is in business to make money.  Time is of the essence.  ENOUGH SAID!
