Cleveland Reigns

Services for Real Estate Pros with RealtyHomeClub.com

Forgive my awful pun on the Active Rain namebrand, but I could not help myself!  Cleveland is still a great place to live despite its RE market downturn.  Think of all of the first time buyers who will gain appreciable value in their homes by purchasing now and waiting just a few short years for the market to turn around.  True, we will not have the hugh balloon-type equity increase that is seen in Florida and the East and West coasts on occasion.  (At least not until global warming makes Cleveland the new South!)  But Cleveland is still a great jumping off point for young people because of its affordability.

The Cleveland Clinic is expanding and needs health care professionals, Case Western Reserve University just had a boom year in Alumni contributions (a sure sign of commitment and trust), and our attractions continue to grow and emphasize family.  The Cleveland Museum of Art recently opened its newly built and renovated galleries, there is an almost hidden gem called the Sunset Grill on Whiskey Island (think sunsets over Lake Erie, cold beer and a playground for the kids), and the first part of our new Health Line bus system is up and running.  A variety of perogies (stuffed with mashed potato, cheese, prune, you name it) with perfectly grilled onions and sour cream are available at  Babuskas in Macedonia and plenty of other ethnic eating establishments!  The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame unveiled a collection of items never before on display and the Metro Parks has a summer full of activities planned.  Add band music on town squares and one of the best years for blooming hydrangeas and you have what it takes to keep a city on track.

Is this too Pollyanna of me?  Cleveland is a port city.  Ohio is home to more presidents than any other state.  Draw a 500 mile radius circle with your compass point in Cleveland and you touchan incredible amount of people.  The USGBC (US Green Building Council) wants us to consider using products not more than 500 miles from your home or construction site.  That puts Cleveland "In the Heart of it All!"
