Downpayment Assistance Programs

Has anyone heard anything about the Home-buyer Down Payment Assistance Programs being in jeopardy? I heard that these programs may be shut down in the very near future. It would be a shame if one of the best tools to help first time home buyers was done away with. Please call 1-866-751-DREAM and speak to your senator or representative to ask them to keep these programs as they truly serve the people of this country. Thanks!

Yes, it's in jeopardy.
If you haven't done so, go to this website, http://www.rallyforhomeownership.org/

It only takes 30 seconds.  This form will go to your local Congressmen and Senators.
CONGRESS MEETS ABOUT THIS TODAY!

HUD should modify to lessen the risk BUT don't get rid of it.  This is one of the last programs out there right now that can get buyers into a home with no money.  (They still have to credit and income qualify)
