Annoying Lingo-- What say you?

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Solutions- OZARK MISSOURI

Annoying Office Lingo Contest.  Ends 7/31/08.

My sister likes to participate in contests and sweepstakes.  She sent me one from Hormel about Corporate Catchphrases.  Got me to thinking about 'being a team player' or 'thinking outside the box'....AND.. how I can get blog material and stir up conversation in cyber world.

Put on your RAIN boots b/c it may get deep in here!

What have you read(heard)  lately in &/or out of the rain that drives you nuts?  There will be no prizes 'per say' but the top phrases will be noted for blog titles in the near future. (I have DIBS)

READY, SET, .... GO!    looking for you

Close enough is only good in horseshoes and hand grenades...(IMHO it is also good in backscratching and a few other activities)

If you are not listing or selling, why are you here?  (I don't know, maybe just to pick up a check?)

Practice makes perfect.   (Actually perfect practice make perfect, bad practice just makes you annoying)

GPTFS- cheryl (a reformed PW)

As a police officer also, non real estate related...my favorite line at court is "see what had happened your honor is...."  :)

Nice :)  My response to the "do you know who I am?"  Is......"No I don't, but unfortunately for you I'm the only one who counts here." LOL

Stan, threaten to call for a psyc. eval b/c they seem confused, follow up with do you know who you are voting for?  if it is not the person you like, haul them to jail.  (seriously just kidding)

April-- you got the idea.... texting is from the devil! It's bad, I tell ya....  drives me insane (and I don't mean in a good high carb way)  Thanks

Hi Cheryl,

(lol-lol) These are pretty funny. When I was involved in skydiving, the one that drove everybody crazy was… “No sh*t, there I was. Thought I was gonna die!”  Heck, we even knew that one in different languages.

Michael, can I steal that one for the closing table? that would be better than the one I use: It's not a good closing unless someone calls the cops"  just kidding.

I forgot to mention in the post that the real contest has a thousand dollar prize, did anyone else enter and if so, what phrase did you submit? - cw

Cheryl.. Our saying in our office is this  "It is what it is".  Sort of sums up everything in our business, don't you think?

I have an agent, her favorite saying after an unsuccessful showing "It didn't melt their butter."

Now that I think about it, she says that all the time, even when it's not real estate related!

Just thought of another one, Cheryl: "Same difference"

What? What in the world does that mean?

Debbie, I hadn't heard the melt their butter one, wonder if it is the same difference as it didn't pop their corn?-  cheryl

William, those "free gifts"usually end of costing a bit.

Cheryl G., I know what you mean as a kid it sounded kinda strange especially since we lived in a one story home.  I remember when I first had the concept of GOD 'seeing' everything we do and I asked my sister if GOD sees me when I am mean, she said yes and HE tells mom!.  That made sense b/c mom knew everything, and now I knew how she did.-  be good  cheryl w
