What Are Your Gas Prices?

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with HOPE USA Inc.

Just thought it might be interested to ask you what are your gas prices? Our gas is $3.71 here in South Carolina and one station not far from here is $3.68

The economy is all over the place. Today they announced that Wachovia has a terrible loss of almost 9 billion dollars and is cutting 6,350 jobs. US Air lost over 500 million and is cutting jobs by 3800. Bloomberg says: General Motors Corp. and Ford Motor Co., the two biggest U.S. automakers, have about a 46 percent chance of default within five years, according to Edward Altmann, a finance professor at New York University's Stern School of Business.

One of the places all of this is hitting our pockets is at the gas pump. I have heard many saying that they are altering their driving because of the gas prices. People are still taking vacations but many are closer to home.

What are you doing differently and again what are your gas prices?

Ocala Florida weighs in at $3.89 but I am looking at a device that can be attached to your car and can increase gas mileage 50% or more!  I've heard that Hyundai Elantras get upwards of 86 mpg.  I'll let you know ...

BTW I work more from home, keep the A/C at 80 and cut out junk food at the grocery store.

What makes me mad is that we are close to a couple of refineries and we were up in the 4.20.  However, we are down in the low 4's and high 3's

Oh, NW Indiana here

I'm the crazy one - went on an extended drive tonight just for fun - enjoying listening to a cd with the windows down :)  Must have cost me 15 bucks in gas, but had a good time.

I can not do much about my gas consummation, but of course the money I have to spend more on gas, I spend less on other things like clothing

Here in South Florida, it runs from one side of the street to the other...depend's on Shell or Hess or who-ever.

It's between $4.20 and across the street... $4.05...now who do you think is selling?

I now plan my day accordingly...make right turn's like the UPS drivers...as my post...we live in a grid here so it's not tough to do.

I work from home, instead of driving to the office.

I try to plan my showing's all in one day.

There is less traffic for sure...that's a good thing b/c it takes less time to get around...however...more and more people are standing at the bus stops...can't take a taxi...that's 60g's to go 10 miles plus the tip...

This is for regular gas...my car want's premium...sorry...he's not getting it...LOL!

Ron,

I noticed this afternoon we're around $3.79 in the Little Rock area.  I'm not doing much differently.  I've always thought $10/ticket for a 2-hour movie was ridiculous (not to mention popcorn/drinks!), so no sacrifice there.  We are blessed here in the Natural State...there are SO many wonderful things families can do that cost little or nothing - state parks, museums, festivals, and all kinds of wacky things small towns do ("cardboard boat races"...awesome fun!)

Oh, we have started splitting bulk food items at Sam's Club with family to cut down on food bills and to reduce last minute grocery runs that always cost more than you originally intend!  Good luck in NC!

Listening to your Needs

We have most of the Nations refinerys and gas is just as expensive here. You print dollars and people buy commodities with them. They do not want to be stuck. This coupled with our inept leaders and you get a crisis. This was not new yesterday. Just like the Social Security mess that is up next.

I have been trying to sell more homes and condos to make up for it. I can sell one more unit and that covers the years increase in gas. its all in how you look at it. I can often ride with my clients or walk in some areas.

Greetings from Saginaw, Michigan!  Our gas is at an all high hit of $4.19 a gallon.  Jobs are declining everyday with our Auto Industry and Residential Real Estate Sales are mostly "Foreclosure"....very tough market right now.  Please send any positive energy our way!

Ron,

Our Gas today in Lynchburg is 3.79. It just acme down and I was so excited about that... We are not doing a lot of driving to visit family this summer. We are planning ahead fro the end of summer vacation at Myrtle Beach. And then a trip to Ohio at Christmas. We have cut back on eating out to fill our gas tank. Unfortunatley when Min. Wage goes up so does eveything else... THe raise won't do any help now that every thing else is up... food, gas, eating our etc... Thanks!!
