Using Publisher 2007 For Interactive Emails

Just learned something so good this week, I wanted to share it...

If you have Publisher 2007, and you use Outlook, you can create some really impressive interactive emails...take a look:

You can add

Publisher 2007

links to words, such as Map, with a link to google maps or www.virtualearth.com by right clicking and adding a hyperlink.

You can also add a picture and right click to add a hyperlink to a virtual tour.

I made my pix a link to www.dawnsold.com which currently is my regular AR page. I linked my company logo to our homepage, www.mayweserveyou.com.

The end result is an email that has interactive graphics, maps, etc. that is not an attachment.

Another great tip: Tell everything in the subject - save time for your readers. If they do have time to open it, they will know they want the info, and you won't just be deleted!!

Here is the final email:

Dawn, Thanks for sharing. I haven't updated my publisher in a couple of years. I use it daily for flyers, postcards, ect. I am definately getting 2007 version!

Thanks.

Just make sure the email is an email with no publisher attachments. I have a mac and cant open this stuff even though I have Office for Macs. Plus any office program you use you can add a clickable link, just an FYI

Heather, In 2007, it doesn't make it an attachment - that's what's great. I will have to send it to my daughter and see how it works for her on her Mac. Thanks for the comments - good to know!

That is fantastic! I will have to check into it. More than likely I will mess it up, but I like to try new things!

Your friend in Charlottesville!

Hi Dawn

I've been using earlier versions of publisher and the new 2007 version has so much in it I haven't even touched the surface of what it can do. This is a great post please keep them comming

That looks great,  I have experimented with Excell 2007 and it has some awesome features.  Looks like I better upgrade my publisher as well..

Thanks for this great tip. I just created my first email newsletter in Pub 2007, as a method to deliver a new e-booklet in small, manageable parts, but did not know I could create live links like these. This is info I will be using right away.

This is great!  I only have v2003 so it looks like they made some serious improvements with the 2007 version.
