Forgiveness

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Greenville Central

Do you know people who continue to go through life with unforgiveness in their hearts? Boy I do and they are so miserable! I have several people that I am close to that have so much bitterness inside and it is eating them alive!

Life is way too short to go around angry with people! Sometimes we get upset with others for no real reason at all. Sometimes we may think the other person is upset with us or mad at us when there is no truth to those thoughts. Many times we have a legitimate reason to be upset because we have been hurt very badly, but we have to choose to forgive anyway.

That doesn't mean that we allow people to run all over us, but we have to choose to let go of any anger or hatred that we may have in our hearts. So many people hold grudges against their parents or relatives until these people die and then it's too late to make things right. Then they have to live with the fact that these people are now gone and they will never have the chance to bring restoration to the relationship.

We need to be willing to work on our relationships with people, even when we don't always feel like it should be our place. We especially need to try to resolve conflict with our families. Whether we admit it or not, we need each other! So often parents and their children are in conflict with each other over silly little things and they go through life refusing to speak to one another. It shouldn't be this way! We need to love one another and allow room for mistakes and disagreements. Just because we don't always see eye to eye doesn't give us the right to close the door on our relationships.

Connie I agree, we are all in this world together and life is too short to hang on to hate. Thanks for the reminder.

Caring expertise...knowledge for you!

Thanks for your post!     The only people harmed by negative thoughts are those that hold them.   Impossible not to be affected, momentarily, but no grudges allowed.    As Buddha said:   "fall down seven times, get up eight."
