This is my first official blog for the San Marino Real Estate Report. How exciting! I live in San Marino, my kids go to school here, and I have a passion for San Marino Real Estate. I hope that this blog gives me the opportunity to reach out to those who either live in San Marino and are interested in what is going on or to those who are interested in moving to San Marino. I will be giving my input on the homes that I see on caravan and writing on topics related to San Marino. Thanks for joining me!
Today I fit caravan in between carpool and a physical inspection, and I must say that the homes I saw were a disappointment! Both of these homes have been on the market for awhile and are priced on the high end of the spectrum.
2769 Gainsborough Drive
This 4 bedroom, 5 bath home has had a price reduction from $2,050,000 to $1,995,000. It would be easy to drive by the house without noticing it, in that it sits back off the street and has quite a few trees in the front yard. It looks like it was originally a one-story house and the room on the second story is an add-on. With 3,614 sq ft, it is a nice size and has nice hardwood floors. I found the floorplan difficult to follow and was not fond of the added on room on the second story. The highlight was the huge 18,763 sq ft lot with pool. This home would well serve a family but it definitely was not my favorite.
1635 Rubio Drive
I was quite taken by the charming architecture of this 4 bedroom, 3 bath home south of Huntington Drive. Unfortunately my fond feeling ended once I opened the door and began to navigate the awkward floor plan and to notice the lack of original details in this home. At $665/sq ft and $1,790,000, I would have imagined a house of unusual quality, but this is not what I found. With 2,689 sq ft and a 9,680 sq ft lot, this house was a disappointment!
