Block Island Afternoon

By

Last Friday, we took the Block Island Ferry over to the island and spent some time relaxing and enjoying the sunshine.  It was a pretty hot day so our plan of hiking sort of morphed into exploration of the Southeast Lighthouse and Mohegan Bluffs, taking some pictures and then stopping for lunch at the National, followed by a visit to the Oar, where we watched the boats go by for a while.

Block Island is 10 square miles but contains some really amazing cliffs, hiking trails, beaches and restaurants, not to mention 17 miles of beach.  It's very easy to get to  - a short, relaxing ferry ride over from Point Judith.  If you've never been, I definitely recommend spending some time on Block Island this summer!
