soooo many phones, which one should i choose (just NOT SPRINT)

how do we select the right phone for our individual needs???

from what i have seen around here everyone is liking the treo or blackberry...

anything with a pda/internet option/storage fits what we need in our profession...

HOWEVER i wanted to share my recent experience with SPRINT/NEXTEL (and why i hope you all choose never to use them in the future):

as a original nextel subscriber i was happy with the FREE incoming minutes for obvious reasons (i think ... once all the new phones hit the market i needed to upgrade to something with an organizer/internet capabilities.... soo i got that PPC phone... after receiving an offer for adding another line for just 5 dollars more (i thought GREAT i can save my gfs phone mins!!!)... GOT my bill   bye bye to free incoming now i only had 550 and was paying more per month...  after contacting SPRINT: SORRY SIR  you can cancel that but there is a 200 charge....  and of course now thats another 2 yrs added to the contract...  after speaking to a manager and telling them you better train ur sales ppl better because he said i keep SAME PLAN with only a 5buck upcharge for the extra line...

AND after about 2 months my sprint PPC phone started to drop more and more calls.. maybe 10-20%...  and for whatever reason in the last month it was up to like 50% dropped calls.. after complaining again they gave me a motorola Q... ive had it for 2 wks soo far...  first week maybe 5% dropped calls..  this past week again 50%..

not to mention how uncomfortable this is for me personally but in our profession if we dont pick up we possibly lose a deal... SOOOO after arguing with them again, im now going to eat 400 for BOTH lines (remember one of them i never wanted) and just switch networks...

AND as you can see im making it a point to make sure PPL know about my experience with this company...  I urge all if you are having the same problems that i had ITS NOT THE PHONE (sprint representatives will blame it on technical issues on the phone hahaha) its the provider....

SAY NO TO SPRINT!!!!   PS ELIOT SPITZER stop cutting healthcare or else ur next too gooo!!!!!!

ANY THOUGHTS COMMENTS ABOUT SPRINT plzzzz feel free to email/leave a comment

thank you friends for letting me set up to the soapbox!!!! hahahaha   and to all a goodnight ~eddie

I too am a former Nextel subscriber who switched to Sprint. I actually like the Sprint service better than the Nextel, maybe it's just a location thing,I'm in the Detroit area, but my Nextel phone dropped calls all over the place.

As far as the free incoming plans you could have just switched your Sprint plan to a free incoming plan, they do have them now.

Maybe it has to do with the towers.  I have had sprint for years and love it.  My whole family is on it. Me here in Texas, parents in Arizona, daughter in New York city, sister in Colorado.  We have the plan where you can talk sprint to sprint for no extra minutes and talk away all day long.

When my daughter living in Manahatten we had some problems with it not coming in to the apartment she was in.  I think they must have had lead in the walls.  Now that she is in Queens we no longer have a problem.

Spring does suck... Trying to get in touch with my boyfriend and hearing my self echo at the same time trying to call out 3 or 4times is not really something that I imagined.  Guess the phone was all body and no brains? or was it really sprint all talk and no satisfaction when it comes to customer relations! Stick with

I'm glad I read this post, thank you for sharing the information.  I am just about to get new phones, one for myself and one for my mother and Sprint was recommended to me!  By someone I guess that shouldn't be recommending phones.  Thank you!

Real estate success since 2004.

I was a NEXTEL customer from 1997-2006.  Until 2005, I didn't have problems with NEXTEL and I loved the service and company.  Then it began to drop calls like mad and I found out that NEXTEL would no longer be upgrading its towers in NY nor would it be putting up any new towers.

In 2006, I planned on switching to Verizon.  When I called in to NEXTEL to cancel, the person that was helping me told me I should give Sprint a try because Sprint was a better system, blah blah blah.

I switched to Sprint (and I use a Treo).  As far as service goes, I like Sprint a lot. As far as customer service goes, Sprint is terrible.

As long as you don't have a problem, Sprint is good.  I won't even go into the story of 14 hours in 2 days on the phone with Sprint's customer service when I initially opened my account and they billed me for phones that they never shipped and they then cancelled my numbers and I had to fight to get my cell number back... that's an entirely different story...
