Wow !! One of the most dangerous things we do as Realtors is recommending contractors. I have done this and you have too. How many times has this come back to bite you? I recommended a painter who painted my personal residence and I was very pleased with his work and price. He did sub-standard at my client's home. That was three years ago. This client reminded me of it just two days ago. I recommended a lawn care service from an office list and after the first cutting he never showed again. What does the client do? Calls and expects me to contact the contractor. Same poor service from an Attorney and so on. Now, I know this is an old story and we should (as a service) provide a list of local contractors when asked. The question is......should we just hand a new client the phone book?
