Ponce Inlet. A Day On The Beach

LighthouseI live across the street from the Ocean here in a small quaint town of Ponce Inlet just a mile north of the pride of Ponce Inlet (and Florida) - the tallest and the most beautiful Lighthouse in Florida. As far as I know it is the second tallest in the nation, but I do not know where it is.

My idea of vacation is simple: go to the beach when it is not yet very hot, enjoy walking the beach, swimming in the ocean, relaxing. I like watching the waves, the ocean is never the same, and I never get tired of it.

A family friend  suggested that we all go to Mexico, and I asked her what we would be doing there. And she told me: "Walk on the beach, swim, enjoy the ocean, the warm weather, just vacation...". Yeap, but I do not need to go to Mexico for that. As long as I do not enjoy visiting the ruins, there is nothing for me that I do not have here. And why would I trade even for the best hotel, when I have by condo, that I love, and where I feel so comfortable?

I can have a 365-day vacation right here... But I don't. I don't get to the ocean from Monday through Saturday, and I usually work on Saturdays, so my little vacation does not happen too often. Maybe once or twice a month, but, boy, I enjoy it.

Have to acknowledge that my photos are not even close to reflecting the beauty of the beach. I am not really good at that, and shooting the beach when the sun is up is a challenge for me. The photos are far from how the eyes see it, but Lady Turtleanyway, I thought I would share with you these photos, and the enjoyment of living by the Ocean. That was my dream for so long. I am living it now.

The stakes on the photo are showing the nest that Lady Turtle laid last Tuesday, and my grandson happen to be on the Beach with the camera (Who Comes To The Beach In the Middle Of The Night?). Actually, Beach Patrol (which is our Beach law Enforcement) had to move the nest away from the water, so that it is not flooded in high tide.

Check this slide show. I will try to do a better job with my photos next time. Keep in mind that it became quite affordable to live not only across the street as we do, but even on the ocean.

If this is what you were always dreaming of, call us and you might be very surprised, how close that dream could be.
