Sarah, I haven't reviewed the feature yet so I apologize for asking what may be obvious if I had - who's contact info is attached to the homes identified by the saved search?  The listing agent or the home owner?

Where does the data come from and how up to date is it?

Thanks!

Michael- We take direct, daily feeds from about a number of sources, Brokers and listing syndication services.  Most of the listings are updated daily.  In the feed, the listing source is sourced (ie agent and broker or call center- depending on the broker's business model).  When the home comes thru the saved search, just the home's high points are displayed.  When the person clicks into the house for more info, all contact info will be displayed.  Info is as up to date as the source provides us.

So it's a manual input from a real estate agent or a feed from the MLS?  I understand the other syndication sources but they all feed from MLS.  I'm just trying to get a feel for how "real time" Zillow's info will be.

This will be a great resource for prospective buyers.

Thanks!

Feed could be: 1) Manually upload from an individual agent or homeowner (and we send emails to this group reminding them to update) 2) Direct Feed from Broker (this is a bulk of our listings) 3) Handful of MLSs and 4) Syndicator.

Also, it is important to know that we have a trumping order, when we get the same listing from multiple sources.  The order that I listed above is the order with the agent having the most authority and the syndicator having the least.

Hope that helps!

Does this feature still exist? I just called Zillow and they told me that there is currently no feature to send automatic email updates when a result matching your saved search term goes live.

Any insight is appreciated.

Thanks!
