According to the Austin Business Journal, the business climate in Texas is the best in the nation. This was a study completed by a marketing company named 'Development Counsellors International. They polled 281 corporate executives across the country, 40.8% of those polled, stated Texas had the most favorable business climate. Reasons given were a strong labor market, low operating costs and a pro-business climate.
Another positive note, the Corporation For National & Community Services states that 35% of Austin residents serve as volunteers every year, making it the 5th most active U.S. city for volunteerism. Austin, donates approximately 56.6 million hours of their time annually, this has an estimated $1.1 billion economic impact. As for the State of Texas, 4.7 million volunteers donate 598 million hours of service each year.
