Some of you thought that Nancy Pelosi was a problem, well what do you think of this fine example of a politician?          Featured photo  Ted Stevens, the longest-serving Republican in the U.S. Senate and one of the chamber's most powerful members has been indicted today. Another banner moment for the taxpayor. Maybe now some of the yahoos out there will get that this administration has been stealing us blind.

Oh some of you will ignore the evidence as you always do, and make excuses for these people or even better you make something up lke the swift boat incident or Willie Horton. Well sooner or later the majority of this country will wake up and discover that just because Democrats like to help the poor, doesn't mean were all bad.

Maybe this incident will be the first domino to fall on "Dubbya" and his cronies.

I think everyone saw this coming.  I bet he walks too.  How can a 40 year vet do anything wrong?  I mean get caught?  LOL

I am equal opportunity when it comes to politicians. I really don't like any of them. The current administration has become so full of itself that they feel they answer to no one, and past administrations are guilty of the same. I for one believe that we should do away with both parties and make all politicians stand on their own two feet as independents. No little D or R next to their name to help reel in the votes. Instead, they would have to rely on their own ability to connect with the people who vote them into office. But then, that's just me. Take care.

Anyone in a position of power has the ability to do wrong.  It isn't just about an administration -- it is the people.  I am not convinced that Republicans, Democrats, Independents, or others are to blame.  It is all about being human, being tempted, and falling to those temptations.  People with a lower threshold for moral or ethical behavior will fall more quickly.  But even those who have high standards can't help but be tempted when in a position of power and authority.

Democrat or Republican, both parties have honest people trying to protect the constitution and both parties have members with self serving interest. Some try to aid the less fortunant, while others try to profit from them. It seems to me that most try to do the right thing and there judgement gets clouded along the way. If they have the core values and moral character to sustain them, they have a chance to go against the grain, no matter what party!

The power that these politicians (dem, rep or ind) have gets to most of them. I think even the ones we think are "good" and "honest" are just as bad as the ones we know are shady. I think too a lot probably go in with grand ideals but get swallowed by the "system". We need to clean house but I don't think the candidates we have up for bids can get the job done.

I'm with JL.  I'd like to see a no party system, with candidates winning on their own merit.  There are dirty politicians in all parties, just like there are "bad" Realtors, car sales people, lawyers, etc.  It does not matter what party or religion they are, they are all human -- and subject to flaws, temptation, etc.
