Are the hungry REALTORS eating?

By
Education & Training with Realty Stream

After visiting with hundreds of REALTORS this year it seems to me that those who are hungry are eating.  I ask every REALTOR that I meet how is business.  The answers are all over the board with confused looks as if they really do not know.  If your new to this type of a market it is desperation and I am just trying to hold on till it gets back to "normal".  The veterans know the ups and downs of the business and talk about tough times being in the early 80's with sky high interest rates.  I find that in this business is eerily similar to the insurance business where I spent most of my sales career. Winners win no matter what the market is doing and whiners whine and always have an excuse.  Tom Hopkins said it Best "The business of sales is the highest paid hard work and the lowest paid easy work".  Go back to the basics and do what got you to where you are if your happy with the results.  Follow up follow up follow up.  Make every lead give you a decision one way or another.  Leads are more precious than ever and leave no stones unturned.  Add extra prospecting time to your life to keep the pipeline full.  Be an extra miler.  Read Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.  Push hard till you hit you numbers.

It's not a game, it's your life.

Josh, this is a pretty exciting energy charger you put together.  I've been busy and I keep working to keep above 10 active clients.  It just helps me to avoid wasting time and opportunity.  Good luck!

I got into the market at the worst time possible. Prices had taken a dive and nothing was moving. I didn't know how to be an agent, nobody trained me.

I soon realized that it didn't help very much asking the "boom agents" for advice as they had never been in a down market, same as me.

I'm not doing too bad!

Josh, excellent point. I couldn't agree more.  I've read Think and Grow Rich and it certainly explains just how simple things are.

Have a great day!

Josh, There are the extra effort agents and the ones that take their two days off no matter what, I think you take every opportunity that is given to you and the numbers do come. Steve
