I have been fishing for Smallmouth Bass for about 14 years now. After a couple years of infrequent fishing, I have recently gotten back into it. Primarily we fish the James river from Eagle Rock a through Natural Bridge in several different trips ranging from 4 hours to 12 hour trips and we are currently planning an overnight trip. We fish in 11 and 14 ft jon boats for stablity, canoes are good too. My wife has come to love the trips, my son is 12 and did several trips when he was younger, now he is quite independent and caught over 65 fish on his last trip including the daily lunker, a beauty at over 18 inches and probably a skinny 3.5 pounds. My 7 year old daughter went with me for her first trip yesterday and loved it. She caught 5 fish with no assistance from Dad at all (well I did untangle her line a few hundred times)
