If you haven’t heard of Randy Pausch (a Professor from Canegie Mellon University), his motivational speeches and his book “The Last Lecture” then you are missing out! I have included a video of one of his amazing motivational speeches within this blog and encourage you to watch. His message reflects how we are in control of our happiness, our lives, how we feel about ourselves and others. He states that it takes great strength to dig deep, except our weaknesses and do what it takes to change and rise above to be the person we want to be. We can be whatever we want - we make the decision. Randy said that if he could give only 3 words to live by those would be “Tell the truth”, and if he had 6 words he would add “all the time”. Imagine what kind of world we would live in if everyone lived by this standard. He was a big believer in “have fun every day of your life”. He was dying and managed to have more fun that most healthy people. He touched my heart and made me feel differently about many things. I hope you choose to watch his video as it can change your life.
Randy was born on October 23, 1960 and died last week, July 25, 2008. He found out he had pancreatic cancer last year and was given 6 months to live. He began giving lectures one month after his diagnosis.
When asked if there would be a movie about this life he said that there couldn't be a movie about his life because there isn’t an actress that could play his wife as none are as beautiful. =o)
I hope that you are able to walk away from this with a new perspective on your life. Our country is changing. We are all concerned with so many issues such as war, gas/oil, real estate market, presidency, water supply and too many more to list here today, but Randy made my worries seem small and meaningless...... in comparison. Hopefully he will do the same for you!
Have a GREAT day!
Life is GOOD!
From the heart....

I actually watched the special last night with Diane Sawyer and balled myself to sleep. He was a remarkable man and had such an extreme impact on so many people.
Maureen - I did the same. =o) He wouldn't have wanted that, but it couldn't be helped. He made me think about how I live, feel and handle the stressful situations in my life. He was one of a kind! I couldn't help but blog about him and his incredible outlook on life.
He is great his vision of life is excpetional I have seen he and family on Oprah fell in love with his thoughts we learn so much from his attitude. thank you for sharing this I have seen it before.
