First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit

By
Real Estate Sales Representative with Russell Real Estate Services

We just received an email that included the link below. The NAHB (National Association of Home Builders) has posted a new website to help explain the Bill that President Bush signed into law today. It seems to be pretty accurate and informative. We are going to forward it to all of our First Time Buyer contacts.

One of the items I read which I was unaware of is the fact that the $7500.00 is technically a loan that has to be repaid over ten years or when the home sells. We have to make sure we do not sugarcoat this when we share it with our clients. It is interest free, but it still is not a gift.

The credit should motivate some buyers, but we need to be able to explain it as well...thanks for the link.
