Smile Like You Mean It!

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Roost.com

Since this is my first post on active|rain, I thought I would share a little about how I look at the world.

It's really not that complicated and everyone can do it but sometimes we lose sight of the simplicity of what it does. What am I talking about you may ask? A smile. Whether you are in sales, a school teacher, a stay at home mom or a bus driver, the power of a smile is undeniable.

Smiling people, fake heads

I bring this up because last week I attended RE Bar Camp & Real Estate Connect in San Francisco and I saw a common theme resonating with everyone from this circle of the real estate world (active|rain, Twitter, facebook, LinkedIn, Flickr, etc.)....they smile. Now some of the smiles were bigger than others but everyone had one sitting right there below their nose.

Why does a smile resonate with this group in particular? Well I've come to the conclusion that people who can write/photograph/talk about their lives, aspirations and ideas are generally happier people and hence smile a lot more. What I love about this is it's contagious. I call it multiplying grins.

So think about this when you are in that next listing presentation or door knocking your farm. Sometimes a smile might get you everything you really want or just make a friend that you really need.

The best thing about smiling, is it will make you feel better when you do it and everyone around you.  Besides, who wants to be around a bunch of spoil sports?

Congratulations on your first post.

Not only does smiling go along way but so does answering the telephone with a smile.  Eventhough the person on the other end can not see you it comes across in your voice!   Keep posting and enjoy active rain.  It is the best.  A community of smiling bloggers... well most of the time!  PS you need to smile in your picture!
