Hello from A.N.T.T.S = A North Texas Termite Specialist. We have been inspecting for termites in the Dallas area for a long time now and still have people ask the same questions, do we need a WDI ? While some mortgage companies don't require them most still do. Another thing about them is it's good practice to at least offer them to your clients. If you don't at least offer it they can come back at you when termites swarm out of their walls next spring! People are funny that way, when they hear the word termite, they want to sue everyone. This is why we tell all of our home inspectors to at least make it a option when they due their home inspection. Most homes that are over 2 years old are conducive to termites. Builders sometimes leave form boards next to the foundation which invites them close to the home. We find termites or signs of prior infestations on about 80% of the homes we inspect. The other reason for doing them is to educate the buyer on how to avoid creating conducive conditions themselves. If you are in need of a good termite inspection then you may want to call us 817-366-3130, we are very good at not scaring a buyer off! We let them know termites are a fact of life and it's better to find them during the WDI so they can bargain with the seller during closing. A.N.T.T.S has a DVD that sells nationwide to other pest control companies teaching them how to do a real estate termite inspection. So why not use the company that trains others in WDI's ? Hope everyone has a great 2nd half of 2008, God only knows we need it.
