Great Falls, Montana

Okay, here is the thing with our housing market.  We do not have all the wild excitement of other markets, so we don't have big highs and big lows in real estate here in Great Falls, Montana.  Our market is pretty boring, as it just plugs along.  So when people ask me how we are dong, because the national real estate market is bottoming out, I respond, " oh well it's just the same as usual".

Great Falls, Montana is a super place to live.  There are many things to do both in the summer and in the winter and we have many historic sites, which makes it interesting for history buffs.  Lewis and Clark came through here on their expedition and we also have the renown Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center.  It is a terrific resource and educational center and if you haven't been there you should go right away.

Our summers are hot and dry and our winters are pretty mild with the Chinook winds (yes and I mean high winds) coming through periodically.  People here are nice and polite.  We have virtually NO traffic.  You can get anywhere in town in less than 10 minutes.  We have 1 Starbucks so life is good.  Oh, we even have one 24 hour pharmacy too.  We just got Chilies and Macaroni Grill and are getting a Hilton hotel too.  Our average home price is around $150,000.

I hope this gives you a bit more information about Great Falls.  I just love it here.

I live and work in Eau Claire Wisconsin. I call it an insulated market because we enjoy the same benefits. No huge ups and downs. It just works.

Hi Shane,

It is nice to hear someone else with some positive news about real estate.  We read so much about the national markets that have bottomed out that I think everyone thinks ALL markets are suffering.  Insulated market is a great term for both our areas.

Thanks you
