Not long ago, Marketing Pilgrim posted about some Hitwise data on real estate search terms and real estate web sites. As expected Realtor.com did very well ranking #1 as both the most visited real estate web site and the most used real estate search term. This wasn’t much of a surprise to those in the real estate industry. What surprised some (and still confuses me) is the list of most visited real estate web sites.

I have looked at many similar reports. However, the ranking of the websites are also different. I have read some that leads me to believe that realtor.com is losing ground. This one does not portray it that way.

I believe in Active Rain. I truly think that AR will catch up to Realtor.com with its Localism sites. Realtor.com is really just selling us back our listings.

This type of analysis (relative analysis) should not be used to measure how one individual site is preforming. But I too, wonder how Realtor.com is holding up.....maybe a future post! To get a full view of what i am stating in the article, read the entire thing.
