Sales, sales, sales

A summer plant sale?  Is that the only reason for you to visit the Holistic Teaching Gardens located on the Texas A&M University campus in College Station?   NO, but plants being reduced from 20 - 50 percent does provide a excuse for those of us that need to find motivation to get out in this sweltering heat.   They will have house plants, herbs, hanging baskets, and landscape ornamentals (If you can't make it, I'll share a few pictures of the beautiful gardens that I have taken on past visits below.)

The proceeds from the plant sales are the primary source of funding for the Holistic Teaching Garden.  All profits go to support student workers and buy supplies for the garden.   The Teaching Gardens may very well one of the best kept secrets in College Station but I'm trying, in my little way, to help change that.

Details about the sale:

Friday   -   Aug. 1  -  9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Saturday - Aug. 2  - 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

It will be held at the West Campus in back of Horticulture - Forest Science Bldg (HFSB) and back hallway inside the building; See map at this internet site: http://campusmaps.tamu.edu/

These pictures below were taken at their Open House in June.

Sondra, I must compliment you on your photography skills. You capture beautiful images. Both you and Carolyn offer all of us such great walking tours accompanied with the details from your area. Morning Glories hold special meaning to me because when I would walk with my father in the early morning on vacation in the summer near Asheville, NC he would point out in the cool mountain air how the morning glories opened up. I hope for those who attend the plant sales they not only bring beauty back to their homes but the donations help as well. You are quite the nature lover I see. So am I.
