I was biking over the Chicago river this morning and there must have been 30 new ducklings in the water, learning how to swim (I think that is what they were). As I kept going, I passed the Home Depot and saw their employees setting up displays of pansies, bulbs, and perennials. With the sun at my back (note- a back not covered in a winter coat) I headed home, suddenly anxious to see how my own little garden was coming. To my surprise, dirt that was covered in snow only last week, now has a few stems starting to spout- and some of them were four inches tall already!
All these things put a smile on my face as I thought- I did it. I made it though another Chicago Winter and Spring is finally here. Soon the trees will start filling out again and people will emerge from their homes to enjoy the days.
This means not only will Chicago start looking pretty again, but so will people's homes. Last week in Chicago 505 listings closed. I wish all the best to you real estate professionals as we move into high selling season and watch this number climb as people begin to see the true potential of your listings.
Congratulations Chicago, we made it through another Winter and Spring is finally here.
