Keyword Density - Search Engine Optimization

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with The Marketing Shop.com

Keyword Density is the number of times a keyword or keyword phrase is used on a page, relative to the other textual content on the page. If you are trying to achieve top rankings for a keyword phrase, you should have a density of 5% or less. If you use a keyword too many times, you may set-off a Google Penalty Trigger.

To figure out the keyword density for a phrase or keyword on your page, use one of the tools below:

Where to put keywords to increase your keyword density:

  • Domain Name
  • Page Titles (title your page using keywords)
  • Headers (html code: h1, h2, h3, h4)
  • Anchor Text (inbound and outbound links)
  • Text / Content (start paragraphs with your keyword phrase)
  • Alt Tags (html code for images)
  • Title Tags (html code for links)
  • Image Files (Name your image files using keyword phrases)

JENNA - Thanks for the tip.  I can't imagine that I would ever exceed 5%, but it can't hurt to check it out anyway.
