Has anyone been given actual statistics on the lack of performance on the down payment assistance loans cited by FHA? I am confident if FHA conducted additional research on the foreclosures of the DPA products, they would discover there was layered risks attributed to the buyers.  Why not implement a FICO score requirement for DPA loans as opposed to completely eliminating the program. I thought the government was attempting to facilitate home ownership? Adrienne C Holmes/ Mortgage Banker Atlanta, GA.

That's a great view! but really as an agent I should know what my clients can afford and not put them into a home I know they end up upside down in. Plus, we know what we can afford and what we can't.
