How many times have you wished you could close a deal right from the comfort of your easy chair?
Well "Arm chair Realty" as I'd like to call it may not be that far away, given the pace at which technology is steaming (no pun) ahead.
Are there any of you that use single page websites and / or full blown websites that make use of Google Maps?
Well if you do and your buyers are on a Windows based computer ( Mac maps will be there soon enough), you can get one more step closer to the above scenario of arm chair realty.
Here's the Concept:
Upgrade your current Google Maps to the fab 3D Google Maps. Your property listings will then show up in Buyer's and clients web browsers, in full glorious 3D, the same as Google Earth, but without them needing to download and learn the Google Earth interface.
So now you will have a full 3D Google map embedded in a web browser, complete with roads, terrain and 3D buildings and cities.
It competes with or at least complements any Virtual Property tour that you may have on your site.
Getting back to the Concept... A prospective buyer picks a property from your list and sees the normal google map. He / She then clicks the "earth" button on the map and this will start a one time download of the 3D maps plugin transparently without any configuration needed by the user.
Your location then shows up in the embedded 3D Map! People can use the mouse to interactively navigate, or launch a Video Chat with you, the Real Estate agent.
You both collaborate in this interactive manner , where you can actually "take over" and explain either by voice chat or typing. while your prospective buyer watches your "software webcam" or softcam broadcasting your 3D map to them.
